Choose license Why is a specific licence obligatory to use Dramatic and Choreographic works

​The Intellectual Property Act establishes the obligation for each use of Dramatic and Choreographic works to be expressly authorized by their authors and rights holders. In order to guarantee legal certainty in the use of Protected works and in representation of the authors and rights holders, the SGAE offers a licensing service for the establishment of the conditions in which the works are used.

Examples of fees

Theatrical performances in areas charging an admission price for the general public

% of the take indicated by the author or else 10%

Promotional theatrical performances in areas without any admission price for the general public

Theatrical performances for charitable purposes.

What does this licence include?

  • Public Communication

    Public Communication charges for the Work you will be using

  • Conditions for use

    General conditions for the authorization of performances of Major Right works

    • Copyright fee

    • Territorial scope of the licence

    • Language in which the performance is authorized

    • Duration of the licence

    • Exclusive or non-exclusive licence/p>

    It is not possible to perform any Major Right work without the prior authorization of the work's registered holders. ​
