WHAT DO WE DO AND HOW DO WE DO IT?
We are the SGAE

We are the Spanish General Society of Authors and Publishers (SGAE in our Spanish acronym ), a private entity devoted to the defence and collective management of the intellectual property rights of our over 100,000 members. We have been operating since 1899 and the repertoire administered today by the SGAE exceeds ten million musical, dramatic, choreographic and audio-visual works. Our activities, focused on protecting and distributing the remuneration of our members for the commercial use of their works, not only benefits our members but contributes to the protection of the extremely rich cultural heritage represented by our repertoire.

ORGANS OF GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT TEAM
Organization

We present below the team making up the SGAE working in the service of authors and publishers for the protection of their rights. The organs of governance of the SGAE (Management Board and Board of Directors) are made up of creators themselves, elected by the members to administer this entity. The management team and the staff of employees comprise over 400 people, distributed around the national and international headquarters of the SGAE.

WHAT DO WE DO?
The SGAE Archive

The Documentation and Archive Centre is charged with ensuring the adequate conservation and accessibility of the extremely rich heritage it holds on deposit. For this reason, it engages in functions of a documentation nature (cataloguing, conservation, digital conversion), as well as commercial activities (it copies, publishes and rents out material for orchestras) and promotional activities (dissemination and advice on the repertoire targeting the general public or researchers and performers).
