Do I have to register my work on the Intellectual Property Register or with the SGAE?

These registers are used for different purposes. The simplest way to accredit the ownership of a work is by having it entered on the Intellectual Property Register. In addition, for the purposes of evidence in the event of future judicial proceedings, this register entry may be seen as major proof of the authorship of the work.
Unlike the Intellectual Property Register, the SGAE Register is used so that this entity can issue licences for the works delivered into its management care, and can pay the creators and publishers any remuneration arising out of their exploitation.
