Although there is no definition in law of this right, synchronization means the reproduction of a musical composition in an audiovisual work or in advertising (spot, slot, website). This activity requires the copyright holder’s permission (author, editor, heir if the author is deceased, etc.).

Examples of fees

I want to include music on a website. What should I do?
Contact us and provide us with the following information:

1.- Title/titles of the musical work/works.

2.- Composer.

3.- Amount of the time the work/works will be used on the website.

4.- Synopsis.

5.- Indicate if the work/works will appear as background musical in a sequence or in the initial titles or end credits. If the work/works will appear synchronized with a sequence, please provide a description.

These data will be used to process your application for permission, contacting the legitimate owners of the musical work/works. Permission will be granted following payment of a "synchronisation (sync) fee", which is a lump sum that each copyright holder requests on granting permission, depending on the circumstances of each case.

The owners of musical compositions reserve the right to refuse to grant permission.
